Messy Bun Beanie - Free Pattern

With cold weather upon me, I figured out this pattern after wanting my hair to have the option to poke out of the top. I secured some Ravenclaw-inspired yarn colors in navy and sparkly bronze to make this project extra special. Below is the pattern if you would like to have stripes or you can ignore the color changes for a solid color throughout. Happy Crocheting!

Messy Bun Beanie Pattern - Adult Size

You'll Need:

• Hook: I/5.5mm
• Yarn: Any two color in yarn weight: 4
• Ponytail elastics - clear plastic or fabric

U.S. Terms:

• rd - round
• ch - chain
• sl st - slip stitch
• dc - double crochet
• sc - single crochet
• inc - increase

Start with COLOR A
rd 1: sl st 33 around the ponytail elastics, ch 2 (33)
rd 2: dc 33, ch 2 (33)
rd 3: (2 dc, inc) x 11, sl st to the top of the first dc, ch 2 (44)
rd 4: (3 dc, inc) x 11, sl st to the top of the first dc, ch 2 (55)
rd 5: (4 dc, inc) x 11, sl st to the top of the first dc (66)
Cut yarn, weave in ends

Using COLOR B
rd 6: ch 2, dc around, sl st to the top of the first dc, ch 2 (66)
