Finishing a project early allowed me to help out a neighbor with their heirloom blanket that got chewed on by a mouse. I was worried about finding matching yarn since the sparkle in it was so specific but I went to Hobby Lobby and found the exact same yarn! I couldn't believe it. I secured all the mouse-bitten ends and then did the closest kind of stitch to match as I could (thank you Facebook crochet groups for guidance). It's done and I'm so happy to give it back to her.

General Conference weekend has been the perfect time to finish my commission for a retro 70'sbutterfly shawl. Because of the customer's choice, I used Chenille yarn so it'd be really soft! I'm so grateful for commissions because of the new skills and techniques I'm taught. I used sewing thread to connect the circles to each other and then the velvet yarn to reinforce those connections. This pattern used 880 yards of yarn and a giant 15.75mm P/Q crochet hook.
Pattern: Vintage Girl 007 It all started when a friend tagged me in a recommendation for her friend's plea looking for someone who crochets. She wanted an Owlbear (owl head, bear body) from DnD in a certain style and the length of her baby, 18 inches. She sent me reference photos and I created a pattern on my own. This project took 5 days of planning, creating, and a whole lot of Top Chef. If you look up Owlbear on Google, you will not get something as cute and cuddly as this.
Pattern: to be posted Joey from Animal Crossing: New Horizon is ready to send! This was my first time adding felt to a project and I think it turned out nice. SO much better than trying to figure out how to do that bear in yarn, haha!
Pattern: Laruma Dolls A new commission for a Halloween costume accessory. It's inspired by the little boy's headband in MGMT's Kid music video. I used graph paper to plot out the letters and the headband was completed by the end of my 2nd Poldark episode.
Praise the nerds who reach out to me and hire me for commissions. This Paper Mario-inspired mallet is only 4 inches tall and will perfectly rest on my new friend's desk. It took 5 hours to conceptualize and create because I only had a reference picture. I also added some plastic canvas for structure. Hopefully, this weapon will be used as a fun prop in Zoom meetings. I can only imagine.
Pattern: to be posted Halloween, my favorite time of the year, is almost here! I just finished a commission of crocheted oranges for someone who likes to start working on their costume early like I do. They are the perfect prop to put her Orange Blossom costume over the top.
Pattern: The Craft Frog Nerd dream becoming a reality. I was commissioned to make Molly Weasley's crazy, amazing sweater for an avid Harry Potter fan. It was so exciting! The sleeves took the longest because of the 34 color changes and learning new stitches I've never done before. It took half the time to do the second sleeve but tucking in the ends of the yarn from all of the color changes, another story. Roughly 46.5 hours, 27 days, 4489 stitches, 3 skeins of pink, and 33 other colors. The lovely lady that commissioned this from me is a wonderful person. While we've been quarantined, she's been hard at work as a nurse! Prayers her way. I hope this sweater can bring her some joy amid all the chaos (just like the sleeves)!
Pattern: Shelleden Did you know that Tim and I call eggs "chicken butt nuggets"? Haha. If you have chickens, this is the perfect hands-free apron to carry all of those fresh eggs. I mean, just look at how comfy those butt nuggets look. I was commissioned by a friend that has 6 hens who are ready to start laying.
Pattern: Heart Hook Home Today, I finished my first commission where I had to create the pattern myself. I was given reference pictures of the Blue Ghost firefly to make this little 7" buddy. I even got to purchase some glow-in-the-dark yarn to give the firefly his glowing belly. This was a fun project and I hope the customer who bought it, loves it!
