Finishing a project early allowed me to help out a neighbor with their heirloom blanket that got chewed on by a mouse. I was worried about finding matching yarn since the sparkle in it was so specific but I went to Hobby Lobby and found the exact same yarn! I couldn't believe it. I secured all the mouse-bitten ends and then did the closest kind of stitch to match as I could (thank you Facebook crochet groups for guidance). It's done and I'm so happy to give it back to her.

I made this blanket for a great friend who was pregnant with their rainbow baby miracle. I wanted a soft blanket with lots of texture for this sweet baby to enjoy when they are doing tummy time or needing something to cuddle. I’ve made something similar for my own babies and they love it. For $2.50 pdf version: STRIPED BOBBLE BABY BLANKET pattern

*r2 BOBBLE ** r5 BOBBLE I've been eyeing all the pretty jumbo yarn colors for a while now but never had a good enough (or impulsive enough) reason to buy some. But getting a new blanketless recliner has given me all the permission I needed. It's so soft! I used Yarn Bee Eternal Bliss Jumbo Yarn in Teal, Country Blue, and Spa Blue. And check out the largest hook I've ever used.
Here is the super secret thing I've been working on since May! Each row has 5 squares on it and each square measures at 12" with a different style and texture! Some were already 12" and some needed an excel spreadsheet to help me map out the increases to get them to measure 12". Click on the pictures to see the 25 squares I did plus, a close up so you can see the details. There are also links for the squares that had patterns and instructions.
After they were made and blocked, I binded them together in between and then made a lovely border. The best part of making a blanket has to be that it keeps your lap and legs warm while you are working on it. And the result was well worth all the work and love that went into it! To say she loved the blanket would be an understatement. It was a birthday gift for my beautiful niece! I had so much fun working on this for her. I hope it keeps her warm and comfy always!
One of my goals was to make my Mom a Halloween quilt. Two years ago, I took her to the fabric store to pick out what she wanted and I've been slowly working on it ever since. It was a lot of squares and rectangles to cut out and make into bigger rectangles. That part took the longest. With my sister-in-law, Kendra's, help, we laid out all of the completed pieces to get the prettiest pattern and I sewed them into a big middle section. I didn't touch it again until July of this year as it was time to put on the sides, top, and bottom pieces. I opted for having a professional do a beautiful spider web stitch with their long-arm machine all over the quilt and it turned out amazing. Thanks Two Crazy Stitches! Then once that was returned to me, Kendra took it home to bind it. All the work and time spent on this love project was worth the look of surprise on my Mom's face. She didn't know I'd been working on it, let alone that she would get it when she did. Now her apartment will be complete with this perfectly spooky quilt made just for her. It measures 54" x 72" and should keep her pretty warm for the haunted season!
I made a baby blanket for Baby Evelyn and it took me less than 1.5 weeks. I've been casually working on it while sitting next to the a/c vent for hot and swollen pregnancy reasons. It's been enjoyable to make and it will be perfect for her little body come winter. It measures 28" x 30".
