Egg Bag - Free Pattern

12/17/2024

Picture
My chickens started laying eggs in abundance and I could only hold so many in my hands! This egg bag needed to be made in order to save myself from stuffing dirty eggs into my jacket pockets.  This project is a quick 2 hours and can easily hold more than 12 - 20 eggs. I only have 11 chickens right now so I haven't need to put more eggs into it. I wanted a sturdy bottom, open sides to breath, and cotton yarn to handle the dirty work of farm fresh eggs. And it helps that my kids are excited to use it and carefully bring eggs into our home. It was a little dodgy before, haha!

Heirloom Blanket Repair

Finishing a project early allowed me to help out a neighbor with their heirloom blanket that got chewed on by a mouse. I was worried about finding matching yarn since the sparkle in it was so specific but I went to Hobby Lobby and found the exact same yarn! I couldn't believe it. I secured all the mouse-bitten ends and then did the closest kind of stitch to match as I could (thank you Facebook crochet groups for guidance). It's done and I'm so happy to give it back to her.

These comfy, thick slippers worked up in less than a day. I'm calling them my Mister Roger Slippers because they hang out in the side pouch of my craft room recliner and I slip off my other shoes to put these on. They're pretty perfect. I also may or may not have bought a bunch of different colors to make more for a listing in the future. We'll see...

Yarn: Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Easy - main color: seaglass; heel color: charcoal

Quick Update 04.03.2024

Picture
Just wanted to check in to give all you lovely people a little update! I'm gearing up to start homeschooling my kids in the Fall and I am totally in sponge mode! I'm learning everything I can and figuring out what that's going to mean for my family. It's been empowering, testimony-building, and a lot of information. And if you know me, I don't go halfway on anything I'm passionate about. Crafted Richs wouldn't be here if I didn't LOVE everything about it, haha! I also understand when I need to reallocate my passions to the most important things of this life. My family, their growth, and our time together. That being said, I'll probably be posting less frequently. I'll still be crocheting behind the scenes, making cool stuff, writing patterns, and teaching crochet classes. The BLUE DOG projects and giveaways will still be happening and my website and Etsy shop will still be up and running! I may post about new stuff, I may not. I'm just taking the focus of my social media efforts and putting that time back into my babies. So, fear not, I'm still here even if I don't post as often! God bless!

Dainty Bones Pullover Sweater

My skull sweater is done! 8 months of work, 37,139 stitches, plenty of frogging to get it to fit just right, and so many opportunities to grow my skills with new stitches and new ways of garment construction. I'm excited it's done and that the temperature up here is allowing for a couple more days of sweater weather. Thanks if you've been following my updates on this thang. It was an adventure, now peace out!
